Teaching and Engagement

At Emory University, I led sections and gave lectures in Classics, Linguistics, Religion, and Candler School of Theology. In Michigan, I designed and taught humanities courses at Lake Superior State University. I have also designed and taught courses in the Department of Theology and Pastoral Ministry at Dominican University and Department of Theology and Philosophy at the University of St. Francis in the Chicago metro area. I have mentored veteran students through Illinois Campus Compact.

My experience with research and collections is interdisciplinary. I have been a visiting researcher at the excavations of the American School of Classical Studies in Corinth, Greece. I have served as a docent for the exhibitions on the Bible and the Holy Land at the Carlos Museum at Emory University. I was a student assistant at the University of California White Mountain Research Station.

In addition to my experience researching and teaching at the university level, I have experience with K-12 programs. I have facilitated Red Cross programs in schools throughout Chicago. I have also tutored students in public schools in the Los Angeles metro area.

During college and graduate school, I volunteered with Best Buddies, Floresta, Hillel, the Catholic Center at UCSD, Intervarsity, Boat People SOS, Habitat for Humanity, and many other nonprofits. I collaborated on grant writing teams, helped at community fairs, mentored high school students with developmental disabilities, and taught English and citizenship classes.
